At Lands Court Holiday Cottages, you'll get the best of everything. Our cottages are based in Appledore, North Devon and offer you the freedom of a self catering holiday.  They have the added benefit of being near great beaches and also not too far for country pursuits.  We have two cottages - Apple Tree Cottage and Pear Tree Cottage to meet the needs of a group of 2 to 6 guests.
 
Lands Court is a private ‘chocolate box’ courtyard, filled with bright plant boxes and character features. It is fortunate enough to be in the centre of this quaint seaside village and only about 100 yards from the magnificent quay.
 
 
 
Appledore is a small fishing village, busy in Summer, on the North Devon coast with a long history of sea-farers and shipbuilding.  Appledore sits at the estuary of the Taw and Torridge river.  It has attractive walks along the quay and towards Bideford or Westward Ho! using the footpaths. The quay is actively used by boat owners.
 
The village is about 3 miles from Bideford & 10 miles from Barnstaple. There are many attractive areas in the surrounding countryside: Clovelly; the famous picturesque fishing village is 10 miles away. Lundy Island can be visited by ferry from Bideford.  Exmoor is only a short drive away. The Eden Project in Cornwall can be visited in a day. Blue-flag beaches - Croyde, Putsborough, Woolacombe and Saunton Sands are all within easy driving distance, while Westward Ho! Beach is a mere 2 miles away. Other options, if you wanted to venture further afield and experience what the area has to offer include trips to Tapeley Park, Instow, The Big Sheep, Dartington Crystal, Bucks Mills, The Milky Way Adventure Park to name a few.
 
The village of Appledore has six pubs, all within walking distance and where most have restaurants attached.  Hidden within its quaint cobbled streets there are a number of interesting art galleries.  Appledore is such a buzzing village it has its own festivals throughout the year - Visual Arts Festival in May, Regatta Week and Carnival in August and the acclaimed Appledore Book Festival in September.
 
Other amenities are available within the village - small supermarket/post office, library, restaurants, galleries, craft shops and more.  You will also be a stone’s throw away from all the amenities that Westward Ho! has to offer; including a championship golf course, tennis, cliff top walks, shops, pubs and restaurants.
 
Appledore is also renowned for its delicious Hockings Ice Cream which is made in Appledore and can only be bought in North Devon.
